Natural Hydraulic Lime (NHL)

Nafees Traders is supply NHL which is 100% pure, natural lime with no additives. It is produced from high-quality siliceous limestone extracted from the renowned quarries, using a carefully controlled and consistent burning and slaking process.

This moderately hydraulic lime is distinguished by its natural luminosity and high whiteness, which preserves the original color of the sand in the finished mortar.

Its versatility comes from a balanced combination of lime’s intrinsic properties—excellent plasticity and breathability—with a controlled level of hydraulicity. This balance allows for the gradual development of compressive strength without the addition of cement, making it an ideal for traditional and sustainable construction.

Suitable Substrates

It is suitable for use on:

• Lightweight blocks

• Brick

• Natural stone

It is not recommended for clay substrates.
For loose or friable surfaces, consolidation may be required using a hydraulic limewash or appropriate bonding agent before application.

• Initial setting time: 5–6 hours

• Compressive strength at 7 days: 3 MPa (≈ 30 kg/cm², average)

• Compressive strength at 28 days: 7 MPa (≈ 70 kg/cm², average)

• Free lime after slaking (Ca(OH)₂): > 28%

• Whiteness index: 72 (average)
